Cork Mosaic: Final

This is a hexagonal cork mosaic made for my final advanced design class. More than 1800 pieces make up the final work, each individually cut and stained with black currant. Many many hours of work when into the planning and execution of the piece.

It is difficult to make out up-close/enlarged but that is the point. An image of holding the hand of a newborn child, I thought it fitting, considering the recycling/rebirth aspect of my project. And yes, it is a fully functional cork board.
